About

I’m Lianna, a product designer at ECS, designing digital products for large, complex government systems.

Before transitioning into design, I spent nearly a decade working as a nurse. During that time, I saw firsthand how the tools clinicians rely on can either support their work—or make it significantly harder. That experience ultimately led me to product design, where I could help improve the systems people depend on every day.

Today, I focus on designing products that simplify complex workflows and make technology more intuitive for the people using it. As a designer in a highly regulated government environment, I work within constraints such as legacy systems, accessibility requirements, and competing stakeholder priorities. These challenges have shaped how I approach problem-solving: balancing user needs, technical realities, and organizational goals to create practical, thoughtful solutions.

My clinical background continues to influence how I design. I’m especially interested in products that reduce cognitive load, improve operational efficiency, and support people doing high-stakes work.

When I’m not designing, you can find me reading a good book, trying out a new restaurant, or spending time with my family - I became a Mom last year and it’s my favorite job yet!
